We, the elected officials and employees of the City of Middle River, are dedicated to serving
the community. We will endeavor to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Middle
River, enourage economic and residential growth in the city and employ fair and equitable
practices while using sound financial management.

Welcome to our website, and welcome to our community. Middle River (The Goose
Capital) is a great place to live or visit. A beautiful town (Population 319) located 22
miles north of Thief River Falls in northwestern Minnesota. Middle River celebrates its
Centennial in 2005 with an all school reunion in June, and the traveling Vietnam
Memorial Wall in town during the Goosefest, along with a big fireworks display and
much more. Middle River has a number of events which take place each year, the biggest
being the annual Goose Festival celebration in the fall. Enjoy your visit on our website,
