A 3-day city celebration held in conjunction with the opening of the annual waterfowl hunting season. Highlights include competitions, parade, dances, numerous food venues, displays, entertainment, Community Theatre play, and flea market.

Goose Capitol of the North

Tucked between two national wildlife refuges, Middle River is teeming with birds and game of many species. Many prominent are ducks, geese, deer and moose. It’s not unusual to see those and more while driving through the countryside; and naturally, the hunting seasons bring tourists and local hunters out in force. On the opening of goose hunting, the banks of Thief Lake are lined with camouflage clad hunters, their guns at the ready, waiting for the sun to rise.

Miss Middle River Pageant

Miss Middle River is proud to be an official preliminary to Miss America, the world's largest scholarship provider for young women. The pageant exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. It provides a forum for today's young women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to audiences and the public during the ensuing year.

Greenbush/Middle River School

Middle River is consolidated in 1993 with northern neighbor, Greenbush, to form School District 2683, Greenbush-Middle River School. The Middle River site houses grades K-8 and the Greenbush site houses K-5 and 9-12. Visit Greenbush/Middle River
